I hear that my last message had some weird formatting/color issues for
those that use Outlook and possibly some other email clients.  Here it is
in glorious black and white!

Hi Everyone,
We have a new procedure for ensuring that the correct playlist gets
published when we air one of your evergreen* shows.  When you record a
program for a future undetermined date, please create a playlist for that
show.  In Composer, pick one of your shows a few weeks into the future (if
you switch-off weeks with someone else, make sure it's one of your weeks)
and create the playlist.  When you deliver the recording to me - let me
know which future date you picked for the playlist.  I will then export the
data from that and save it with your show's audio file, and delete the
playlist from Composer.  When the time comes to air the evergreen, I will
load both the program into ENCO, and the playlist into the proper date in
Composer.

While we're on the topic, if we've used your evergreen once or twice (of if
you've never recorded one), then we need a new one.  Please record one
soon!  Some people choose to record a new show for the current week, but
make it evergreen as well.  If you do this, just let me know by saying
something like, "Here's my show for Friday 11/26/21 - but it's also an
evergreen!"  That way I will mark it, and export the playlist and save it
for the future.  This is a handy way to do it, if you don't have time to
record an additional show.

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Thanks,
Hank

  • an "Evergreen" is a show that can be aired anytime in the future.  It
should have no mention of current events, upcoming concerts, the weather,
new releases, the season, etc.  Just talk about the music.
