Holy moly indeed!!!!! November!!! Bahhh sooo long!!!!!
I was just at the Shelby Bash a few months ago and they had Carrol’s first Cobra there, what an AMAZING piece of history! No restoration, exactly the way it’s supposed to be! Seats torn, paint chipped. Race car.👍🏻😍 Sold for $13.8 Million!

I saw the TV trailer for the first time last night. I really hope they do the
story and the characters proud. However, I fear they will Hollywoodize the
shite out of it and it'll be just another auto sports based farce.

That crossed my mind, and the crash footage is a bit over the top, but the
story is so perfect and it’s Matt Damon so fingers crossed. Carroll Shelby
was such a character honestly I’m not sure how you could even exaggerate
him.

I expect Hollywood will over romanticize, and perhaps over dramaticize
(yes, this is possible, even with very big and intense characters), the
story. I can't help but compare it to *Truth in 24. *It was not based on a
true story, but the documenting of a true story as it happened. It also
focused more on a team than individual characters. In fact, I'm inspired to
go back and watch it again.

My concern is more about the truth of the people and events. Rush was very
well done. Some others not so much.
I recently watched 2, two hour TV automotive specials that were, to be kind,
both rubbish! The one on Muscle Cars had so many blatant errors I should have
known not to watch the second. Things like talking about the early days of
performance Pontiacs while showing the image of an Oldsmobile. Or explaining
the second 4 in the Olds 442 stood for four speed transmission but, showing
the image of a console with, you guessed it, an automatic. Talking about the
Pony Cars in the then new Trans-Am racing series but leaving out, Firebird,
AMX and Cougar. Does no one proof these shows?
Oh, oh⦠How about the story that Richard Petty designed the Superbird on a
napkin? When asked about aero testing his reply was: Thatâs why we take
âem to the track! Hey, never mind that its older brother, the Dodge Charger
Daytona, was raced a full year before the Superbird or Richardâs return to
Plymouth were known about.
And donât get me started on what they said about the Ford GT 40!!!!
Why would I want to pay extra for a channel that produces crap like this?
