Dear Listers

For those who don't follow PRONI developments closely -- but who would like to make enquiries or access specific archival documents, please note this from today's PRONI communication ....

We are delighted to announce that we have now implemented an online payments system for our written enquiries service.

If you have any questions, please contact [ mailto:proni@communities-ni.gov.uk | proni@communities-ni.gov.uk ]

Recently, I had occasion to ask for PRONI's assistance and requested digital copies of 2 documents listed in the e-Catalogue. Turnaround time was prompt (within a fortnight) and my card was only debited when the job request had been attended to.

Very interesting to get to see an actual image of a Londonderry lease dd. 1828 -- and to see that the way the legal draftsman spelt the surnames of both lessor and lessee differed from the way these men signed their own names ..... We would never have twigged on this, had we not gone searching for PRONI's images.

Warm regards

Dave Mitchell
