Howdy, fellow KCBX folks who use the MCR!
First of all, I continue to thank my lucky stars that I get to volunteer
for this station in such illustrious company. Y'all are amazing.
I've been doing a lot of fill-in lately and am spending a lot of time in
the Control Room. I just wanted to remind us all (including myself!) of
some general housekeeping tips.
- First, the floor. I don't know why I got so attached to keeping this
floor clean, but I did give it a deep clean a while ago, and have been
trying to spot-clean since. I've been feeling very possessive and
Felix-Ungery about it. If you can remember to clean up any little messes
as we go along, that would be great. One of my least favorite things to
scrape off: chewing gum. (!)
- Next, if we can all re-shelve CDs properly, it would be less stressful
for everyone.
- Returning the studio to the condition you found it in is good manners.
If you unplug the headphones from the TASCAM, please plug them back in. If
you mute the sound on the computer, unmute it before you leave. In general,
any actions you take to change the default settings - please undo them
before you go away.
That's it for the reminders. Now for one shoutout: I recorded a show in
StudioX, and having a computer that's connected to the internet is a
gamechanger! The promos are even pre-loaded! Thanks to everyone who made
that possible.
Thanks again for all you do!
