Subject: [Ducati] 94 900ss stuck in 2nd gear?
Thanks James,
It looks as though the left hand engine cover is coming off today so I can
see if it is the spring and or the the fork selector on the left of the
case causing the issue.
Wish me luck,
Ciao,
Eric
There is a coil spring around the shift mechanism that can break or loose
it's tension over the years that can cause this. It keeps the two levers
that rotate the drum in contact.

Riding home today coming off the highway downshifting as I slow down I got
into 2nd and tried for 1st but the shifter would not move. The angle of the
shifter was past the 1st position and almost fowling the kick stand when
retracted. The bike ran fine in 2nd and I made it home but now I am faced
with a stuck shifter.
Any one care to point me in a good diagnostic position as far as were to
look or what to try to fix this particular issue.
Many Thanks,
Eric
