About 30 miles from downtown, or 45 minutes.

It's well worth the drive.

How far is that from Downtown Austin? I’m always working so if it’s not pretty close it’s not an option for me on this visit. But I love to visit Austin so MotoGP isn’t the only time I turn up there...

If you are a BBQ fan, it's a short drive/ride, but I strongly suggest trying Mueller's in Taylor.

I'm in Cedar Park, and I always drive to Mueller's versus going into Austin.

The brisket is unbelievable, and the banana pudding (not really traditional nana pudding) will make you slap your mama.

Real Texas BBQ.

As a former (and possible future) Austinite, I wholeheartedly back what
Vicki says - unless you are really, *really *into barbecue, I wouldn't
waste your short time in Austin standing in line at Franklin's. It *is *one
of the top places to eat BBQ in Texas, but the lines can be horrendous. Hot
tip- check out Micklethwaits Craft Meats about 1/2" mile away from
Franklin's. Almost as good without the big wait.

The HandBuilt show opens Friday and assuming they are at the same
location, also downtown.
Ducati ticket packages are close to in sale date, my best guess is next
week-ish.
Finally, BBQ, there’s so many and they are all great. I have had Franklins
and Salt Lick and others on the best list and my advice would be there’s
way to much to do in Austin to justify wasting time in a line for meat.
Just order it anywhere and dig in. I’ve yet to have a bad meal in Austin...
See you in April!

Kreutz, Chisolm Trail, Black's (my personal favorite) - all good joints in
Lockhart. Kinda old-school though.
