Currently, the default output directory of m5 is the current working directory. Personally, I find that pretty annoying since I almost never want M5 to litter the current working directory with output. How do people feel about me making the default output directory "./m5.out". This could of course be overridden with the -d option as usual. I will also be creating a .m5rc in the near future where all of these options can be easily set, so if people hate the idea I can do it in my own .m5rc file. Nate

While I'm at it, should I change any other default names? Maybe: m5stats.txt -> stats config.ini -> config console.foo.sim_console -> foo.console None of this is required. Just if I'm going to change one default and there is a desire to change others, doing all at once would probably be a good idea. Nate

I think m5_out might be compatible with more file naming conventions, although I haven't actually checked. "output" already exists in the output of spec regressions which might be a little confusing. i would vote for a "m5-out" directory.... The file names seem fine to me...
