Yes. For years, I've been trying to toss my tear-offs into other riders'
intakes (as they pass me), with zero success. I've already sent an email to
Fabo (or "Efe", as those of us really close to him call him), asking how he
managed this. If I find out how he did it, don't ask me to share, but be
very careful about passing me.

I’ve often wondered how there’s not more issues with tear offs. Seems like an accident waiting to happen really.

Is this fact? Bagnaia thinks it might have been dirt or a tear off, but
that's not confirmed. This would be the first I've heard of Rossi's crash
being due to a tear off.
If it caused a crash, even one time, they need to ban them. Actually, even
Miller's issue should cause a ban as slowing on the track unexpectedly
could cause serious issues.

YEP! Back in the day I crashed on a warm up lap when my front end tucked mid
corner for no apparent reason. Corner worker said he saw something fly up from
my front end. We looked around and found a tear off that had incriminating
scratches on one side.
Iâve hated tear offs ever since.

Not exactly a fact but it was not left out as part of the investigation.
They checked his telemetry and he done nothing wrong. They concluded either
dirty track or tear off was the cause. Why did they not just say dirty
track?

I’ve patented a vegan tear off that self destructs as soon as it’s removed
from the shield.
Who’s got a better idea than that?
Pecco says to allow Marshalls to clean up the tear offs during the race LOL.
Or, tear off removal are allowed only on certain sectors or the track.

Or, make the tear offs tearoffable (ha!) but have them still be attached to the helmet so they flap in the breeze. Make the ends really bright colors so they aid in rider identification. It'll be really enjoyable for the riders too, hearing and feeling the flapping tearoffs beat against their helmets and shoulders at 200mph.
Nah, that sounds silly...I like Lan's idea better! hahahahahaha
