Finally!
I have been arguing for a few years that to produce an electric motorcycle
would be Ducati returning to their roots, while forging a new future.
As I resolve to only buy non ICU motorcycles, and also sold my 900, I have
lamented leaving the Ducati marque. In the next few years, this will not be
an issue for me.
I know what my next motorcycle purchase is going to be.
Whoo Hoo!

Prob be 3-5 years before they push one out though. I wonder if they buy
Energica, or at least assimilate their tech to make this happen?

I'm hoping for 3 years - I think I can hold out that long.
As far as buying Energica, or using their technology, I would say that
would be a bad move and hopefully not likely. Energica has a big weight
problem, more so than other electric motorcycle manufacturers. As a company
that has made itself a landmark through innovation, and making light and
elegant motorcycles, I'm hoping they can bring that same innovation to
making a light, fast and good handling electric sport bike.
That's not too much to ask, is it?

So far, yeah it’s been too much to ask. :-)
I’m betting Gigi brings a hybrid drivetrain to MotoGP. Think TORQUE…

I'm pretty sure MotoGP bikes already make way more torque than they can
actually use without advanced TC.

Sure, but it's the delivery of that torque right? Supercars are starting
to use hybrid drivetrains to exploit that advantage. I don't think it's
outside the realm of possibilities.

Cars have about 12x the contact patch available for traction. MotoGP bikes
reached peak power many years ago and already offer well over 250 HP. Power
is not the issue, getting it to the rear tire is.

You just jumped tracks between power and torque. I dunno that they reached peak power years ago and it seems Ducati keeps adding more in. There’s something to be said for instant and smooth linear torque.
