Alex Rins was born the same year Rossi won the Italian 125cc championship.
It is amazing to see someone who could have retired years ago, race head to
head with a man a little more than half his age, hold his own, and have the
wisdom to take  second place.
What an amazing stroke of luck for Marquez to crash. It makes the title
race much tighter, although it is very early in the season to talk about
the title. The biggest favor Marquez did by crashing was to give us a race.

Title number 10? Rossi is looking strong. Dovi comeback? He is looking
strong as well. Marquez putting them all to shame? Despite his get off
today, he is still the most amazing talent for riding a MotoGP bike that we
have seen since,.... uh,... Rossi?

That's because you're racing minis. You need to get on a big bike.
But seriously, Rossi is amazing. What do we old guys say, 10 years from
now, when Rossi is still standing on the podium?

Even my "big race bike" is sort of mini - my beloved Honda RS125 (2 of them
actually).  Physically and mentally exhausting all of them - with so much
less HP than a motoGP bike.

And I HOPE we're still talking about Rossi on the podium in another 10
years, but that just seems impossible (for now).

It's amazing to think, how after all this time, and after all the guys that
have come and gone to try and beat him, he's put it on the box 2x this
season already.  It's just crazy.

VR rode on the safe side for points. Rins got plenty to prove— Win it or
bin it.
A bit disappointed for VR. Once MM is back, no more winning for anyone
again. Only one who can beat MM is MM.  maybe Dovi due to HP. But I think
that’s the last. I believe Honda caught up in the HP dept.

I'd argue VR rode smart. He gave it a go on the last lap, but didn't have
what he needed.

By your logic, everyone who finished behind Rins was just riding for
points. No shame in finishing a race, and certainly no shame in finishing
2nd.

And while MM93 is certainly the class of the field, I don't think he's
going to win every race for the rest of the season.  That would be insane.
In the championship, who knows, anything can happen in racing...

Yes
Yes
and Yes

I like to remind myself from time to time, that these are, arguably, about
the best 22 riders in the world of GP style motorcycle racing. As much as a
rider wants to win, and his fans want to see him win, being the second best
in the world on any given day is not a bad accomplishment.

I believe it was Kevin Schwantz who said, in the Movie "Faster," "you just
want to win. If I come in second, I just want to kill someone." (probably
not an exact quote).
