M.MARQUEZ:  Out for the rest of the season
(at least 2 months, may as well take off)

He can come back this season just to smoke them all for the remaining races
and show them who’s still the current King.

Well, my intention was to tell Lan that he was full of it on this one, and
that the others have caught up and MM will return to find himself in a new
field of competitors. Typically, it's not that simple. When I compared
today's pole setting lap to MM's from last year, MM was over half a second
faster, a year ago. On the other hand, while MM reeled off a few low 1:24s
in FP4 last year, a few other riders have pretty much caught up. So, it
could be that the field (bikes especially, KTM, Suzuki) has improved
significantly and Marquez will have a much harder time when he returns. Or,
Marquez will get back and return to setting new records on his way to
another title. I just hope tomorrow we have racing that is as close as the
practice and qualifying sessions have been; 11 riders within half a second
of pole.
No spoilers here, right?

Let’s use this post as the start for the thread subject line for tomorrow’s race. NBCSports will broadcast the race at 7:30am and that should be on the free channel, not Gold which is pay.
So much racing this weekend, GP, IndyMile flat track tonight and the Indy500 tomorrow.  (yea!)

I managed to get the pole right but picking the top ten in SuperBru is ridiculously challenging. Too many guys in the mix, hard to believe it but somehow MotoGP has stumbled upon parity.

Caught up? Can’t wait for this MM guy to be 100% and spank them all one by
one. Did you see what he did in Spain before he made a mistake and F’d
himself? Who can ride like that??

Nah man, qualifying, fps ain’t sh!t  come Sunday. They ain’t got the same
race craft as MM. Yes he crashed and unfortunately his bike F’d him up for
good measure— it happens. Happened to VR too and I still find him the best.
He just gotta shut the hell up sometimes!

Or, Marquez will get back and return to setting new records on his way to another title. I just hope tomorrow we have racing that is as close as the practice and qualifying sessions have been; 11 riders within half a second of pole. No spoilers here, right? Did someone steal Lan’s med again?

Caught up? Can’t wait for this MM guy to be 100% and spank them all one by one. Did you see what he did in Spain before he made a mistake and F’d himself? Who can ride like that??

Nah man, qualifying, fps ain’t sh!t  come Sunday. They ain’t got the same race craft as MM. Yes he crashed and unfortunately his bike F’d him up for good measure— it happens. Happened to VR too and I still find him the best. He just gotta shut the hell up sometimes!

come-on Pags, Lan is dead on target, that is, of course, if staying on the
bike and not crashing are ignored as part of race craft.

Wait, maybe we're all missing something. If you discount crashing, and
include spectacular moments as part of your measure, then perhaps we should
consider Zarco as the greatest current MotoGP rider. Yes, MM93, has a
stellar history of phenomenal saves, always worth a second look. But, his
performances pail in comparison to the incredible performance JZ5 initiated
last Sunday. Zarco is the ZingBangJeezus! king of gluing our eyes to the
screen. Marquez is a mere sideshow.

It all depends on how you measure.
